My Friday List #6: Favorite Things In Pennsylvania

So hello to my readers its been ages since I have posted but as you know I have been on vacation to Pittsburgh to take in some sights and see some very special people. So it is fitting that my Friday List this week is the top things I loved about Pittsburgh! I will recap the trip later so here is a short glimpse of the things I loved from our vacation:

1.Historcal Sights

I make it no secret that I am a huge history buff and somewhat of an addict especially when it comes to Colonization through the Industrial Revolution in America. So when Devin and I decide to make a trip I always say well lets go see this historical battlefield or even street sign. So Pittsburgh had  it all of within the confines of its downtown and beyond.

Fort Pitt Flag Bastion in Downtown Pittsburgh

Fort Pitt Blockade House in Downtown Pittsburgh

Fort Necessity in Farmington Pa

2. The Nature

I know this is a weird title for this but it is true. The landscape of Florida is somewhat boring to me. Its flat and has no character to it and it seems less natural than other states. So Pennsylvania had it from mountains to streams I felt very one with nature.

3. Zombie Landmarks

For me being a zombie enthusiast George A. Romero is my hero. He recreated the genre and made it was it is today. He is from Pennsylvania and he filmed two of his most famous movies there. So I knew from the beginning we needed to seek out this spots.
The first is where Night of the Living Dead was filmed, and the remake was filmed there too.

and then there is where Dawn of the Dead was filmed: The Monroeville Mall. A quick side note, they has a zombie walk the day we visited but I was a couple hours to late to catch the action....

4. Seeing Special People

While in Pennsylvania we saw Devins Great Grandparents (to the left) and his Great Aunt and Uncle (we are in between them). We had a great time at lunch and hanging out on their porch in the nice weather.

We also met up with my friend Chris and his blushing bride Jayde for a zoo/movie day and to watch True Blood. It was wonderful seeing them and it was a great way to end the trip

Thats it for the list! What are some favorite things from your past vacations?

Never Threw A Baby Shower Before....

On Thursday I hosted my first baby show for Courtnee, a sweet girl I work with at Starbucks. It was a surprise shower that we as a store orchestrated. All of the girls showed up early and we surprised her when she walked in! It was a wonderful time of games and spending time with friends. Heres a few pictures

It was a wonderful time with some wonderful ladies. Have you thrown any parties lately?

My Friday List #5: Guilty Pleasures

So I have a few things that I consider to be my guilty pleasures in life. Its not that I am ashamed of them I love every minute of them so here they are in a list.

1. Pretty Little Liars (the book and the TV show)

Even though I just blogged about this book, which you can read here, I have to tell you its a major guiltily pleasure. This book/TV series has it all: blackmail, scandal, not knowing who to trust, and creepy text messages from a person/persons named A. I recommend either to read or watch the show it always has me on the edge of my seat.

2. Peanut Butter

Yep you read right, I am in love with peanut butter. I will eat peanut butter on almost everything, from ice cream to fruit. It is the best and I do not think I will ever tire of this delicious spread :)

3. The gLee Project

I love watching this show! It has everything gLee does but with an elimination round. Its fun to root for my favorites week after week and argue with Ryan Murphy's decisions on who to cut.

4. Man V. Food

Adam Richman is a food God to me. Where ever he eats I must eat. Some call it an obsession I just say that I have a guilty pleasure for good food and TV.

5. Pinterest

This website consumes a lot of my Mac battery life. Everyday I am trolling for new things to pin and new boards to create. I love finding new recipes to try, home decode ideas, fashion tips, and funny geek memes. This place plays to all of my different sides (a girl has to be multidimensional)! I have said this multiple times in this blog if your still a noob to Pinterest, I would become a winner and join now!

What are some of your guilty pleasures?

Whats On The Kindle: Pretty Little Liars

So lately I have been obsessed with Sara Shephard's series entitled Pretty Little Liars. It is a book about these four former best friends living in the affluent town of Rosewood, Pa. These friends are trying to find out who killed their friend Ali in 7th grade. Although as they dig deeper they begin to realize that there is more to this murder than meets the eye. They don't know who to trust and they begin to get threatening texts from an ambiguous person named A who seems to be everywhere at once. This book is 12 and counting and with a TV series on ABC Family I do not think she will stop at 12.

Each chapter leaves me speechless and wanting more! Its a better series than I thought when I first started watching the TV show. This book is a good quick read that will leave you guessing: Who Killed Ali? and Who Is A

Busy Little Bee

A Starbucks Barista/Future Teacher takes her days off very seriously. I use these few days a week to see friends, spend time with Devin, look for teaching positions and thrift. Although today I am pretending I am Cinderella before she married the prince. These next few weeks are going to be busy so I need a tip top house so I do not loose my marbles. So today I am mopping, dusting, vacuuming, dog washing, scrubbing manic! So I leave you with some of my all time music to clean your house to, I hope you enjoy!

Craft From Pinterest I Want To Try

After being on Pinterest for a while I have realized my need to craft has grown into an obsession. Unfortunately I have Pinterest overload, and do not know where to start, so I am going to start to compartmentalize to figure out which one I want to start first.

1. DIY Peter Pan Collar: There is just something about this collar that I love! Its so classic and it can spruce up any tee shirt.

2. Fabric Covered Mats: A nice way to spruce those boring mats that come with your picture frames. I have a gallery wall in the house that could use this.

3. Vintage Mason Jar Oil Photos: This is a really cute way to display your photos in the house

4. Bow Skirt: I have always wanted to make my own clothes, and once I procure a sewing machine I will.   This is the first project I will undertake!
