My Friday List #6: Favorite Things In Pennsylvania

So hello to my readers its been ages since I have posted but as you know I have been on vacation to Pittsburgh to take in some sights and see some very special people. So it is fitting that my Friday List this week is the top things I loved about Pittsburgh! I will recap the trip later so here is a short glimpse of the things I loved from our vacation:

1.Historcal Sights

I make it no secret that I am a huge history buff and somewhat of an addict especially when it comes to Colonization through the Industrial Revolution in America. So when Devin and I decide to make a trip I always say well lets go see this historical battlefield or even street sign. So Pittsburgh had  it all of within the confines of its downtown and beyond.

Fort Pitt Flag Bastion in Downtown Pittsburgh

Fort Pitt Blockade House in Downtown Pittsburgh

Fort Necessity in Farmington Pa

2. The Nature

I know this is a weird title for this but it is true. The landscape of Florida is somewhat boring to me. Its flat and has no character to it and it seems less natural than other states. So Pennsylvania had it from mountains to streams I felt very one with nature.

3. Zombie Landmarks

For me being a zombie enthusiast George A. Romero is my hero. He recreated the genre and made it was it is today. He is from Pennsylvania and he filmed two of his most famous movies there. So I knew from the beginning we needed to seek out this spots.
The first is where Night of the Living Dead was filmed, and the remake was filmed there too.

and then there is where Dawn of the Dead was filmed: The Monroeville Mall. A quick side note, they has a zombie walk the day we visited but I was a couple hours to late to catch the action....

4. Seeing Special People

While in Pennsylvania we saw Devins Great Grandparents (to the left) and his Great Aunt and Uncle (we are in between them). We had a great time at lunch and hanging out on their porch in the nice weather.

We also met up with my friend Chris and his blushing bride Jayde for a zoo/movie day and to watch True Blood. It was wonderful seeing them and it was a great way to end the trip

Thats it for the list! What are some favorite things from your past vacations?

My Friday List #5: Guilty Pleasures

So I have a few things that I consider to be my guilty pleasures in life. Its not that I am ashamed of them I love every minute of them so here they are in a list.

1. Pretty Little Liars (the book and the TV show)

Even though I just blogged about this book, which you can read here, I have to tell you its a major guiltily pleasure. This book/TV series has it all: blackmail, scandal, not knowing who to trust, and creepy text messages from a person/persons named A. I recommend either to read or watch the show it always has me on the edge of my seat.

2. Peanut Butter

Yep you read right, I am in love with peanut butter. I will eat peanut butter on almost everything, from ice cream to fruit. It is the best and I do not think I will ever tire of this delicious spread :)

3. The gLee Project

I love watching this show! It has everything gLee does but with an elimination round. Its fun to root for my favorites week after week and argue with Ryan Murphy's decisions on who to cut.

4. Man V. Food

Adam Richman is a food God to me. Where ever he eats I must eat. Some call it an obsession I just say that I have a guilty pleasure for good food and TV.

5. Pinterest

This website consumes a lot of my Mac battery life. Everyday I am trolling for new things to pin and new boards to create. I love finding new recipes to try, home decode ideas, fashion tips, and funny geek memes. This place plays to all of my different sides (a girl has to be multidimensional)! I have said this multiple times in this blog if your still a noob to Pinterest, I would become a winner and join now!

What are some of your guilty pleasures?

My Friday List #3: Favorite 24hr Tee Websites

I am a fan of the tee shirt. It can be worn with almost anything, and we all can't dress up all the time can we? My favorite tees to wear are pop culture tee shirts with geek references or tees with a cute design on them. The hard part is finding shirts that a hundred other people are not wearing. Nothing is worse than going to the mall and seeing countless others in a shirt you though was one of a kind. What I have found are websites that offer a print of a particular tee for only 24 hours. I love these websites because they offer tees done by artist and once the tees are gone they are gone. It lowers the chance of someone sporting your tee!

They offer mostly geektastic tees that will leave you nerd raging!

This website offers both cute animal designs and geek references

More Geeky Tees And They Offer Kid Sizes

They Offer Two Tees Per Day

The only draw back is they only print what they sell, so it can take up to two weeks to get a tee shirt. I really don't mind waiting that long for a tee shirt and I love the anticipation that comes with checking the mail box everyday!

My Friday List #2: Favorite Getaways

As I said in a previous post Devin and I love day trips! Here are are my three all time favorite places to visit and spend my days or vacations.

1. DISNEY WORLD

I love this place the most because no matter your age you can always be a kid!

Disney is also a super special place because it is where Devin asked me to marry him right behind that beautiful castle at the wishing well :)

2. Colorado
Its a beautiful place to visit and I love spending time with Devin and his Family. It is a state full of people who like to be outdoorsy and thats is definitely up our alley
Although next time we need to go when I can wear shorts comfortably :)

3. Rainbow Springs
It is an amazing park about 2 hours North in Ocala. We always like to visit the park with our closest friends and cook out near the spring. The best part about Rainbow Springs is the abandoned zoo (its very zombie apocalyptic)!

Those are my top three places to visit for a day trip or vacation. I would like to know what are some of yours?
